Luminous Being
Counselling & Psychotherapy
Hackney, Peckham and online
I’m Lisa (she/her), a warm and empathic integrative therapist, dedicated to helping you untangle your life’s complexities and blocks to love — whether that's cultivating self-love, fostering meaningful connections with others, or both. My approach embraces you as whole — mind, body, and soul. I see people as individuals with personal agency, deeply connected to and shaped by wider society and its power structures.
"There is light in darkness, you just have to find it." bell hooks

ethos
Love lies at the heart of being human; we yearn for connection, acceptance, and belonging. Our relationships — with ourselves, others, and the world around us — shape us. Our histories, beliefs, and society can bring both nourishment and challenge to our capacity to love and be loved.I strive to support people to reflect upon their experiences, gain deeper self-awareness, and find ways to move forward in alignment with what feels right for them. I approach with sensitivity to intersectionality, cultural diversity, and individual beliefs and values; I aim to create an accessible, inclusive space, honouring all identities. I am not the expert of you, but I will try to help you become the expert of yourself.

our work
In each 50-minute session, you lead the way, you set the pace. I bring my presence as I tailor my approach to your individual needs and the parts of you and your life you wish to understand more deeply, change, be heard, or find acceptance. We may talk or sit quietly; I may reflect, question, share my theoretical insights, introduce tools or holistic techniques to aid you, or get creative in how we explore or release, perhaps through drawing, visualisation, or movement. We may arrive at your life story, relationships, culture, identity, and ancestral influences, or focus on your sensations, emotions, and the interaction between us in the room. We may shift between present awareness and unconscious processes, your thoughts, behaviours, and patterns in these. We may hold your hopes and fears for the future, and explore the tensions and contradictions between these. My integrative approach draws upon theories including relational, person-centred, gestalt, psychodynamic, transpersonal, attachment, transactional analysis, body psychotherapy, internal family systems, and is queer-affirmative, neurodiversity and trauma-informed.My experience with somatic and movement practices, work in the creative industry, and my own personal experience of therapy inform my work. Reach out if you’d like to discuss how we might work together.
